The older ones were able to explain about being a witness in court, or to something that had happened at school, and we agreed that it is not always easy or straightforward to witness to the world. The most enlightening part of your reflections for me though, was that we do not have to prove anything, but just need to speak to our own experiences, from where we are, from how Jesus affects our lives. We talked about witnessing signatures on the marriage register or on a will, and how these acts did not give the witness a responsibility for the outcome, just as you said that witnessing in court did not make you judge and jury. We agreed that was enabling, and frees us from the need to justify our faith - we do not have to "prove" God or Jesus, we only need to share them.

Ironing done, roast beef and yorkshire pudding eaten, the working week beckons. Have a good one, God bless, thanks again,

AnneAnnenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-110197701822420036.post-76345065091236232022012-04-22T11:03:57.296-05:002012-04-22T11:03:57.296-05:00Anne, I'm glad you were able to glean some ide...Anne, I'm glad you were able to glean some ideas from my reflections.
